Greetings Yagya Friends,

October is such a busy month!  We begin with Deepavali, the festival of light on October 17th which celebrates the light of consciousness.

We follow with our 10 day yagya for Subramanyam/Mars from the 22nd through the 29th to smooth out the dynamic Mars energy which will be stronger than usual through May.

Finally, we have a yagya for Rahu/Ketu Peyarchi to celebrate the movement of these shadow planets into new signs on the 27th where they will stay for the next 18 months.

deepa

This traditional festival celebrates a number of events; the return of Rama and the emergence of Lakshmi, but mostly it's purpose is to enhance the inner light of consciousness and provide a nice boost to our spiritual development.
Details are here ($11).

skanda

This yagya series honors Subramanyam (also known as Skanda or Murugan), son of Shiva, the celestial general, and who personifies the energy of the planet Mars.
This yagya will bring some smoothness to the Mars energy which can otherwise be quite volatile. When well balanced Mars/Subramanyam enhances our ability to meet the ups and downs of life with energy, forcefullness, and optimism.

rahu

Rahu and Ketu are changing signs, moving to Saggatarius (Rahu) and Gemini (Ketu) on Tuesday, October 27th. This event is traditionally celebrated as Rahu/Ketu Peyarchi and it marks a special time during which the effects of these two (usually) troublesome planets can be influenced in a positive manner.

When their influence is positive, these planets can bring great success through, creativity, determination, and penetrating insight. They are also well known for their ability to stir things up and force change and transformation. This yagya helps to soften their impact so that their capacity for good is maximized.

guys

There are more updates to the puja.net site to be posted over the next few days; a new astrology podcast, a new mythology podcasts, details on the Kanchipuram private temple yagyas that we are now offering, a book of photos from Navaratri, and more!

As always let me pass along the thanks and blessings from the priests and pundits in India.

Very best regards,
